The Biblical Center of the Divine Word Missionaries in Granby, Canada aims at fostering love for the Word of God among the surrounding population. At the Center, we offer biblical courses, group recollections, St. Ignatius exercises in daily life, and private and guided retreats. The Center is also open to some activities of our diocese of St-Hyacinthe. For two years now, our bishop, Mgr. Francois Lapierre, has been coming here regularly for meetings with his Episcopal council (5 members) and with his pastoral council (15 members). We also host different groups of pastoral agents and permanent deacons. The Center is small – we have 10 rooms (five single and five double), a conference room for 35 people, two dining rooms, a small chapel and a few other rooms for meetings, TV and relaxing. This is a beautiful place. We put a lot of emphasis on cleanliness, good food and very quiet surroundings. Our property includes a farm, a beautiful lawn, plenty of trees, a great variety of flowers and lots of birds. The city of Granby, gateway to the Eastern Townships, at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains offers visitors an excellent Nature Center, a bicycle path dozens of miles long, a beautiful zoo and plenty of outdoor activities. In winter, there are a number of excellent ski centers in the region (Bromont, Glen, Sutton, Jay Peak Vt).
