Volunteer opportunities

Volunteer opportunities

Each year, there are opportunities for men and women to work alongside Divine Word Missionaries as they assist people in need and spread the Good News.

Mission Service Opportunities
Volunteer your gift of time and talents by serving with the members of the Society of the Divine Word. Whether you would like to spend a day, a week or more, or simply volunteer when you can–we have opportunities for you!

Give of your personal faith through Bible sharing, visiting the sick, or religious education programs. Give of your personal skills by helping with electrical or carpentry repairs or office work. Our SVD parishes are ready to welcome you!

8th Day Center for Justice

Based in Chicago, Ill., the 8th Day Center for Justice tackles social justice issues head on. Founded in 1974 by a few religious congregations, the center is now staffed and supported by 30 orders of nuns, brothers and priests. The Society of the Divine Word is one of them. You, too, can work side by side with the 8th Day Center staff and bring your skills to bear on important issues of peace and justice.
